The GFF domestic league is now entering into its decisive stage with both leagues at the end of Match Day 16 and 18 respectively in the male category. In Week 19 matches, the GFF Organizing Committee had taken actions on various areas as filed in by Match Officials ranging from protests, suspensions and fines.
The GFF during its regular sittings over the week and in the month of March decisively took actions on some of the agenda items brought before them amongst which was a protest received from SK East Bi FC against Brufut United FC, for allegedly using a Real De Banjul player, Mr Edrissa JATTA On March 8 2017. So too was Brufut United FC protesting against Wallidan, for fielding an unqualified player Ebrima CEESAY, alias EBBA.
The OC is fast tracking the action points on these queries and promises to come out with answers soon. The GFF OC had received a Re-appeal by Gamtel FC, regarding player Mr Salifu CEESAY and claiming ownership. The OC however has reemphaized that matters concluded by the Appeals Committee are always final and non-negotiable
In the Female League, penalties have been meted out to Company Ten for only been able to play Four matches out of a possible ten. The team is said to be struggling in the Women’s second tier and thus is languishing at the bottom.
In Male League Division Two, Head Coach and two other players of Fortune FC have been found wanting by the Organizing Committee for unsporting behaviors during their match with Banjul United at the Banjul Mini Stadium. The Head Coach Jane Joof, players Modou Sowe, Abdoulie Baldeh, Lamin Dibba and Amadou Jobarteh are been suspended for the rest of the season and a fine of Fifteen thousand Dalasis ( D15,000:00) for fans trouble after the match.
The OC has also forfeited three points and two goals from Wallidan FC after they fielded in player Ebrima Ceesay in their game with Brufut United. After Brufut sent in an appeal, the matter was investigated and found out to be true that the said player Ebrima Ceesay is a contracted player with Brufut United.
